July is an exciting time to visit Lake Tahoe with its endless array of outdoor activities and adventures. Sizzle and Boom on the Fourth
Independence Day in Lake Tahoe provides a fiery show of patriotism with its Lights on the Lake fireworks show. Views abound all over town for this top rated event. Imagine viewing this awesome show over the lake by boat or beach; it’s an experience you won’t soon forget! The show is scheduled for the 4th at 9:45pm.
Hot shots and celebrities will excite fans at the 25th Annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship July 15-20th at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. The course provides stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains, and seeing scores of professional athletes, actors, musicians, and comedians is another treat for the eyes! You’ll have the opportunity to get autographs and photos, and if you get to the beach at the 17th green, you can be a part of the biggest party golf spectators have ever seen. The game has never been so much fun!
Large and Live
Along with the 4th activities and the golf extravaganza, the live music and entertainment scene in Lake Tahoe really heats up this month. Top entertainers visiting the city include Sinbad, Spyro Gyra, Carrie Underwood, Frank Caliendo, Zac Brown Band, Train, Journey, and Steve Miller. Yes, all of them in one month! Just a heads up- August is another hot month for entertainment with Lady Gaga, Boston and the Doobie Brothers, Aerosmith, Chris Isaak, Bruno Mars, Rascal Flatts with Sheryl Crow and Gloriana, and the Eagles. Other happenings in July include Thursday evenings Live At Lakeview– free music on the beach with food vendors and a beer garden, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor State Park, and hot-rod heaven at Hot August Nights – The South Lake Tahoe Experience. If you’d like to see some smokin’ watercraft, take in The South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic at the Tahoe Keys Marina and Yacht Club.
